The story of Dewichor begins in 2019, when Alexander (bass) and Ed (drums) decided to join forces to make a death metal project. A few months later, Dmitry (guitar) was added to lineup.
A year an a half later the band shifted its direction, opting for a more aggressive sound and turning towards black metal. During that time Ivan (Мрамор, Onemoreapple) joined as vocalist. He brought to the band an aesthetics reminiscent of Cradle of Filth, easily noticeable in the vocal pats of the song Where Rusty Ships Dwell. Around the same time the band officially adopted the name Dewichor. The instrumental core of the band was completed and solidified in early 2022 when Evgeny (Olshanoe) joined as a bass player with Alexander moving to guitar. However, the vocalist position remained unstable. Vocal duties at that time were performed by Sergey (Gorlathrog).
With this lineup Dewichor released the single Where Rusty Ships Dwell and continued working on new material. During the summer 2022 another frontman change occurred – Sergey was replaced by Evgeny and the band began studio work on three new tracks and a renewed version of Where Rusty Ships Dwell (version with Sergey's vocals is available in the music video and on Bandcamp). These four songs became the EP Ritual. At the same time the band kept refining the sound: arrangements grew more complex, saxophone appeared in Barbed Wire, new lyrics were written.
Throughout 2023 the band focused on preparing their full-length album No Tomorrow, the title of which comes from a line in the song Face the Hellfire. Recording was completed in spring of 2024 and handed over to mixing and mastering to Denis Susarev (DURA, PLEN, Millstone). Meanwhile the songs were actively performed live – including songs Requiem, Heresy and Barbed Wire, which had been part of the setlist since the band's first ever live show in August 2022.
However, the work on new material never ceased. During No Tomorrow Tour Dewichor introduced two brand new songs – The Final Motive and The World That Once Existed, marking the shift from English language to Russian in lyrics and a stronger accent on atmospheric elements. During this tour the lineup changed once again – the bassist and vocalist swapped roles, while sharing vocal duties between them.
